Digital Photography Tips
Red Eye is a common problem with image capturing because of on-camera flash. To avoid it, move your flash off-axis and choose a connecting cord and flash bracket. Then simply bounce the flash off of something like a wall or ceiling. An alternative is to use a remote flash trigger to keep the flash off the camera.
After you transfer your digital images from your media card to your laptop or computer, make sure the photos open up and are saved off of the camera’s card before you delete the files. I.E. don’t accidentally delete the images without saving them elsewhere and making sure they are really there first. That can be a bummer, especially with wedding photos or other important 1-time occasions where you can’t do re-takes.
Always carry along extra batteries, your re-charger and adapter, equipment instructions and an extra media card or two. You never know where you might need your supplies, and don’t want to miss great shots.
If you want to use your photos that have people in them, plan ahead and find simple permission forms to print out and stash in your photo bag. To locate forms, search online for “permission for photos form” and customize one for your own company or private brand. Check in local library photography books for a quick one to print out, too, or at a local professional photo shop for other sources.
Try to get something to compare size with in your photos. For example, instead of just taking a shot of a flower, place your hand in the background as if you’re gently holding or caressing it in the palm of your hand – only without actually touching it.

Editing & Using Digital Photos
Most cameras come with software for managing the images on your computer. However, to edit the photos, you may need special software like Adobe Photoshop, one of the most popular choices among photographers. You can head to Amazon and eBay to shop for older versions of the software which should cost much less than the latest version.
Two things are very important here….
1. First, check with your camera and computer for compatible equipment. For help, either contact the place where you purchased your computer and / or camera, head online to search for software that is compatible or ask at a local professional photo center, like Cord Camera (instead of the local pharmacy that offer film development behind the cigarette counter).
2. And second, do not buy used software or software from a seller who appears shady. You might get a copy that won’t work because it was not legally sold through the right channels, and Adobe de-activated the code. So it’ll be useless. Then instead of saving $50-100 or more, you’re out much more than that and left holding the bag – the empty photo bag, per say.
Well, this concludes our short learning series on digital photography. Of course there is still so much more information to learn, and we’ve gone ahead and packaged it for you already in our ebook, ““Digital Photography Mastery.”

Hi !FIRSTNAME!,
welcome back to your “Digital Photography Mastery” learning series. Time to say,“Cheese!” And now on to your next lesson…. (and keep smiling ? )
Camera Basics
There are cameras of all shapes and sizes today for all budget ranges. Before heading out to buy one, do a little research to see what features and options are available in your target price range plus coordinating accessories. Determine which features and accessories you’d prefer to have for your money, versus which you can do without – at least for now.
Some things to look for with camera buying include size to make sure it’s compact or large enough to fit into your carryall to suit your needs. Also check out available of essential components for it like batteries and media storage disk. You want to make sure you’re not getting a close-out brand that uses a special media card or battery, for example, of you may have difficulty finding replacements and back ups.
Smaller digital cameras begin with those included in cell phones nowadays. Check with local Verizon, T-Mobile and other cellular reps for features and comparisons plus pricing on monthly plans. You usually have to sign a 1-year or 2-year contract.
Medium or the next sized phones are compacts. Popular models are Cannons, Panasonic, Nikon, Sony and Olympus brands.
Then you have SLRs or single lens reflex, preferred by professional photographers, but not limited to them.
A couple of excellent places to begin your research online are with:
Amazon Camera and Photo at: http://www.amazon.com
eBay Cameras and Photo at: http://photography.ebay.com
Amazon allows you to sort their available products by price, by bestsellers and by a few other options. They also offer product specs, accessories and reviews that may help with your decision making. Some best-selling digital cameras included:
- Canon PowerShot SD600 6MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom
- Canon PowerShot A540 6MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom
- Sony Cybershot DSCW50 6MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom
- Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1K 5MP Compact Digital Camera with 10x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black
Basic digital cameras listed with eBay include these:
1. Digital Cameras
2. Point & Shoot
3. Digital SLR
4. Specialty Digital Cameras
5. Other Digital Cameras
There’s still a lot more to learn about digital photography. So hang tight for your next lesson….

Hi !FIRSTNAME!,
Glad you joined in with your next “Digital Photography Mastery” lesson. OK, time to smile again, please, “Cheese!” …. now on to your next lesson…. (keep smiling ? )
A quick search at Amazon Camera and Photo section at: http://www.amazon.com for accessories turns up over 18,590 listings. And even though all of those aren’t for digital cameras, many – probably most – are. That’s a LOT of accessories to choose from, for sure.
Known by many as the world’s online auction site, eBay runs thousands of auction just on digital camera accessories alone. At this time of this writing, they were 79365 items found in Digital Camera Accessories at: http://photography.ebay.com . And this included items in several sub-categories in their Digital Camera Accessories section:
• Accessories
• Batteries & Chargers
• Cables, Cords & Connectors
• Memory Cards
• Memory Card Adapters & Readers
On the average, when people buy digital cameras, they generally aim for a bundled package to go with their camera purchase. The package usually carries an assortment of accessories including an adapter for using the video mode, if your camera has this (video shooting drains batteries in a heartbeat!) There is also usually an extra media card for photo storage, batteries and / or a camera re-charger with rechargeable batteries.
To carry and store this bundle – and your camera – you are going to need something like a popular backpack style carrying bag AKA The Pod. This is excellent and durable, a good way to store all: camera and strap, extra batteries, battery chargers, battery packs, lens caps, filters, covers and more. Grab and go shoot with everything in one handy place.
Other handy accessories are large (for larger photos) or small (single shots) photo printers, a cutting tool board to trim photos to size, photo paper and album, and other types of storage folders.
Whew, there are still pages and pages and pages of information out there about digital photography. But relax, and we’ll get another lesson your way soon….

Ready for more photo fun? OK, ready, aim…snap!
…Now on with today’s lesson in this “Digital Photography Mastery” learning series. Today we’re focusing on photo tips of the trade. So here you go…
Photography Tips
1) Red Eye is a common problem with image capturing because of on-camera flash. To avoid it, move your flash off-axis and choose a connecting cord and flash bracket. Then simply bounce the flash off of something like a wall or ceiling. An alternative is to use a remote flash trigger to keep the flash off the camera.

I.E. don’t accidentally delete the images without saving them elsewhere and making sure they are really there first. That can be a bummer, especially with wedding photos or other important 1-time occasions where you can’t do re-takes.
3) Always carry along extra batteries, your re-charger and adapter, equipment instructions and an extra media card or two. You never know where you might need your supplies, and don’t want to miss great shots.
4) If you want to use your photos that have people in them, plan ahead and find simple permission forms to print out and stash in your photo bag. To locate forms, search online for “permission for photos form” and customize one for your own company or private brand. Check in local library photography books for a quick one to print out, too, or at a local professional photo shop for other sources.
5) Try to get something to compare size with in your photos. For example, instead of just taking a shot of a flower, place your hand in the background as if you’re gently holding or caressing it in the palm of your hand – only without actually touching it.

Ready for one last pose? Hold steady now….smile… and …SNAP! …it’s a take. Beautiful!
…OK, for our last lesson in our “Digital Photography Mastery” learning series, we are going to focus on editing and using your digital photos. So let go…
Most cameras come with software for managing the images on your computer.
You’ll be able to discover in much more detail, all these neat things and more about digital photography:
